What Is Tele Audiology?
Tele Audiology makes use of teleconferencing technology to allow patients to connect to their audiologists when they can’t come in for an in-office consultation. Using the video camera on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop and an internet connection, you can connect to your hearing care provider for a no-contact, face-to-face consultation from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever you happen to be.
Though tele-audiology became the preferred means of no-contact consultations during the pandemic, it also provides a viable alternative for our patients who require the same level of hearing care they expect from an in-office appointment but cannot attend an in-office appointment due to any number of unavoidable challenges.

A tele-audiology appointment is as easy as, if not easier than, setting up
an in-office appointment. Here’s how it works.
#1 - Contact Us for an Appointment
After providing the requested information and submitting our schedule a tele-audiology form, an Upstate Hearing patient care specialist will contact you to help set a date and time for your appointment.
#2 - Your Confirmation Email
Once we’ve settled on a date and time, we’ll send you a confirmation email. This email is a reminder for your appointment and includes critical information regarding the setup and testing of the camera and microphone on your device, as well as the link you will use to connect to your audiologist when it’s time for your appointment.
#3 - Connect With Your Care Provider
When the day and time for your appointment arrive, all you have to do is click on the link provided in the confirmation email, and you’ll be instantly connected to your audiologist for a live, face-to-face consultation using teleconferencing.
#4 - No-Obligation, Initial Consultations
Our initial consultation allows potential patients an opportunity to ask questions and discuss their concerns about hearing loss, hearing tests, hearing aids, etc. without obligation. Our care provider will provide answers to your questions and concerns, recommend a hearing assessment, guide you toward hearing protection, or meet other hearing health needs.
#5 - Support For Existing Patients
Tele-audiology is also available for existing patients who need help with troubleshooting and remote device programming assistance or want to speak with their hearing care provider.
We Invite You to Take Advantage of Tele Audiology
Regardless of whether you are a new or an existing patient, our tele-audiology service is a convenient way we continue to provide our community with a no-contact alternative for meeting your rapidly changing hearing health needs.
Take advantage of our tele-audiology service regardless of the circumstances that make an in-office appointment unworkable or inconvenient. Simply fill out and submit the adjacent form to set up your appointment.
