Give it a try
- Deb M.
Deb recalls the moment she realized something was wrong with her hearing. “I was in the last row in a large meeting space. The audience kept bursting into laughter, and I never caught a single joke the speaker made,” she shares.
Prior to visiting Upstate Hearing Aid Center, Deb was apprehensive about potentially needing hearing aids. She notes, “Many of the older people in my life had tried hearing aids and wouldn’t use them.”
During her comprehensive hearing assessment, Deb answered questions about her family’s health history, her challenges and concerns, and her lifestyle. After taking a few simple hearing tests, her results were available and showed that hearing aids would benefit her.
Deb is happy with her new hearing aids. “I was surprised at how little they showed,” she says. “I attend large meetings in church or at funerals, confident that I can hear what’s going on.”
Rating Upstate Hearing Aid Center a 10/10, Deb advises others, “Give it a try. What do you have to lose?”
I heard sounds I had never previously heard
- Randal B.
Randal says the reality of his hearing loss became clear “when I discovered that I had up to 11% hearing loss within one year of appointments, and I certainly did not want to lose more hearing.”
Randal wasn’t apprehensive about entrusting his hearing care to Upstate Hearing Aid Center. “I experienced no fear and had no concerns, as I just wanted to be able to hear better,” he says.

“I have a more quality life being able to hear and understand better. Also, during the day, with the hearing aids on, I do not experience the level of tinnitus that I had.”
To anyone considering an appointment, Randal says, “Do not be afraid to admit hearing loss. There is no difference between hearing loss and vision impairment and having to wear glasses.”

They are an absolute godsend
- Danny B.
Danny has experienced hearing challenges since his youth.
He explains, “I’ve had problems since shooting without ear protection as a teenager. I have a constant ringing in my ears. I began to have trouble hearing telephone conversations as I got older and slowly realized that I had been watching people’s mouths move during in-person conversations, and I naturally didn’t have that luxury during phone conversations.
“The constant need to ask people to repeat themselves over the phone convinced me that I needed to look into hearing aids.”
Prior to seeking hearing care, Danny recalls, “The only real concern I had was cost. I had decided that I needed the hearing aids. I was never concerned about any stigma about wearing hearing aids. It was just a matter of saving the money. My situation was before Upstate Hearing Aid Center was in place.”
Danny is happy to now depend on Upstate Hearing Aid Center for his hearing care. He also loves the technology that is packed into his current hearing aids.
He shares, “As far as telephone conversations are concerned, they are an absolute godsend. The cell phone connects via Bluetooth to my hearing aids, and I never, and I mean never, have to ask anyone to repeat themselves over the phone, even in somewhat noisy environments like a restaurant. I have what would be considered moderate to severe hearing loss to give you an idea of how much they help with phone conversations.”
Rating Upstate Hearing Aid Center a 9/10, Danny advises others, “Just do it!!! The improvement in phone conversations alone via Bluetooth is worth it.”

According to Connie, the team was “so friendly and caring,” and she liked that they “didn’t insist I needed anything.”
Connie’s ears were more than just cleaned and examined during her appointment. Her hearing was also tested, and the results revealed she actually did have a hearing loss, and hearing aids were prescribed.

They will listen to you
- William W.
William knew that one day he would need hearing aids.
He shares, “I first realized that I may have a hearing challenge when the audiologist at Walter Reed told me that I have a permanent hearing loss that would eventually require hearing aids. I knew she was right and had an exam every year until I reached the threshold that required hearing aids.”
Eventually, William did reach that threshold, and when he did, he made an appointment with Upstate Hearing Aid Center. Prior to his appointment, he says, “My biggest concern was that hearing aids would be uncomfortable and prone to making a whistling sound.”
It didn’t take long for William to realize his hearing care was in good hands. “My first impression of Upstate Hearing Aid Center is that the people there are knowledgeable, friendly, and listen to me,” he says.
William is pleased with the hearing aids he was prescribed. He shares, “The biggest impact from the hearing aids was being able to watch TV with my wife without her constantly asking me to turn the volume down. Also, music and movies are much more enjoyable.”
Rating Upstate Hearing Aid Center a 10/10, William advises others, “Go see Upstate Hearing Aid Center. They will listen to you, address your concerns, and give you the best advice possible.”
