Some of the latest technology is already available to us, but can it help you, or is it just for show?

What is ReSound One, and How Can it Help You?

by | Jul 7, 2022 | Hearing Aids, Industry News, Patient Resources, Technology

Keeping up with today’s technology can be a monumental task. Companies are continuing to reinvent features and the functionality of hearing aids each year. This is driven by two incentives – to both help people and to make more sales.

Understanding whether these products will help you can be confusing, which is why gathering all information is important.

As Greenville’s most trusted hearing care experts, we have witnessed the many changes in technology and understand the thought process that goes behind every user.

Before you make any decisions, take into account some of the points we make in this article of what ReSound is now offering. Whether you’re looking for your first set of hearing aids or need an upgrade, we can help you choose based on all of our research.

Key Feature

This new update allows users to take phone calls without having to handle their phones at all. Calls can be answered and disconnected through the touch of a button. This allows busy folks to stay connected to their careers, family, and friends much easier.

The hands-free aspect is nothing new in technology, but having that available in your custom hearing aids is very new. Your phone calls will relay through your settings on your hearing aid, so calls will be clear and crisp for you to understand at a volume that is tailor-made to your liking.

Who Will the ReSound Help Most?

One of the great things about this new offering is that it’s available to anyone with a ReSound One hearing aid. Even if it’s an older model, we can install the appropriate firmware to allow it to take advantage of this new feature.

For the firmware to work correctly, it’s only offered to Apple users at this time. If you have an iPhone or iPad, then you are eligible to use this feature. You only need one or the other, so if you use an Android phone but have an iPad at home, you can still use this hands-free function.

Three Different Models to Accommodate More People

Choose from one of these three options to suit your hearing needs perfectly:

High Power Hooks — These are the top-of-their-class and the only ones made from durable metal. Most hooks are made from plastic and have a tendency to wear down over time which warrants replacement. Metal hooks last much longer and, as a bonus, help with sound because they don’t bend or kink.

Standard Hooks — The new standard is now a single piece of a plastic tube that wraps around the upper part of your ear. They have improved locking mechanisms to keep your hearing aid securely positioned for optimal comfort and performance. They’re also a bit lighter than the high-power hooks.

Power Hooks — These are more traditional for those who are already used to an older version. Why fix what’s not broken?  Experienced hearing aid wearers will appreciate this offering.

Having these three options available makes it easy for ReSound users to switch if they need to. As hearing loss progresses, buying new devices can become expensive and inconvenient. You need only change the hooks with this system should your hearing change over time.
